Is cell phone radiation actually dangerous? We asked some experts

Four years on – September 2019 update

A lot has changed in the last four years, but the argument over the potential for cell phone radiation to cause harm to humans continues. The National Toxicology Program released its final reports in November 2018, from a series of studies that cost $30 million and took more than 10 years to complete. It concluded that “there is clear evidence that male rats exposed to high levels of radiofrequency radiation (RFR) like that used in 2G and 3G cell phones developed cancerous heart tumors.”

There was also some evidence of DNA damage and glioma. Unfortunately, precisely what that means for humans is not clear.

Switzerland : "Swisscom to switch on 5G nationwide by 1 October 2019"

Obsolete 3G systems from Tuesday?
Media release: "Swisscom to switch on 5G nationwide by 1 October 2019"

schutz-vor-strahlung.ch, 28 September 2019 - translation

As of Tuesday, 1 October 2019, Swisscom intends to connect the 5G network throughout Switzerland. With a software change for thousands of 3G antennas, these will now be usable for 5G devices. Swisscom is thus ignoring the will of the population and pretending to have a "super-fast mobile network", even though only the slow 3G antennas are being reused.

Swisscom's 3G network works with slower 900 MHz and slightly faster 2,100 MHz bands. This is now a thing of the past. From 1 October 2019, Swisscom intends to switch the faster 3G bands to 5G. It has thus found a way of avoiding all licensing procedures when introducing 5G. In return, the existing 3G network will lose a great deal of quality and become slower.

Working Meeting in Paris with Professor Belpomme, Dr. Pri Bandara and Dr. Marc Arazi

Working meeting in Paris with Professor Belpomme and Dr Pri Bandara
Equipe Phonegate, 28 Sep 2019

Dr Pri Bandara, member of the Phonegate Alert Scientific board, came especially from Poland where she participated in a scientific conference organized by the City Hall of Krakow, to come to Paris to discuss with Professor Dominique Belpomme (ARTAC) and our President, Dr Marc Arazi. She then resumed a flight to Sydney in the evening to return to Australia where she resides.

We would like to thank both of them for this time of high quality scientific exchange around electrohypersensitivity (EHS) studies, which we hope will open up new opportunities for international collaboration, especially with the Oceania Region (ORSAA).

20 New Papers on Electromagnetic Fields and Biology or Health (26 September 2019)
saferemr.com, 26 September 2019

Dr. Joel Moscowitz, University of California Berkeley, has been circulating abstracts of newly-published scientific papers on wireless radiation and electromagnetic fields (EMF) about once or twice a month since August, 2016. These updates are sent to several hundred EMF scientists around the world.

The latest additions appear below (title only).

[Event] European Parliament: Phonegate Alert invited to speak at a Press Conference on 5G
Equipe Phonegate, phonegatealert.org,  27 Sep 2019

We would like to thank MEPs Philippe Lamberts, Michèle Rivasi and Klaus Buchner of the Greens/EFA for their invitation to participate in the Press Conference organised on October 1st 2019 at the European Parliament. This will be an opportunity for our President, Dr. Marc Arazi, to ask the European authorities to take all appropriate measures to protect mobile phone users from the health and industrial risks associated with the international Phonegate scandal, particularly at the time of the announced launch of 5G.

We welcome the presence of US Professor Martin Pall and Italian journalist Maurizio Martucci, both on the front line to ensure that the precautionary principle and a moratorium are applied before any massive deployment of 5G.

Thousands of people protested in the Swiss capital Bern Saturday over
the roll-out of a 5G wireless technology
  • The protesters gathered in front of the Swiss parliament in Bern yesterday
  • Critics say 5G's electromagnetic radiation poses health and environmental risks
  • Several studies on the health impacts of the new technology are underway

Thousands of people have protested in the Swiss capital Bern over the roll-out of a 5G wireless technology across the country, which they fear could damage people's health.

The protesters, many carrying placards, gathered in front of the Swiss parliament building yesterday in a bid to stop the construction of more 5G-compatible antennae.
